I have geometry in design model and created couple of ref file sheets each with fragment of referenced design model, clipped by shape. Now I have to edit original geometry in design model and move part of geometry into new location. this means, also the referenced parts in sheets move out of the clipped area, or in other words, clipped area now shows different part of design model and all the related dimenisons, notes, text whatever is wrong now so, my question is, is there a way how to lock the postion of referenced geometry within ref file sheet? somehow to pin it in precise position using MS v8i SS3 thanks
This is what I would would do duplicate the design reference model, call it new now ref attach it to your sheets as before so two models are refed old and new now go to the new ref model and make your changes .. now via the level manager change the symbology of the old ref to all grey you should now be able to make a copy of the sheet boundary clipping element to the new position so now you have a relative position marker to move all your annotations etc , then move your sheet to the new spot and reclip.. there is a feature in move ref that lets you move the boundary and ref to gether ( dont know if that helps) but the relative move by old and new sheet bound should work pretty well .. thats how I'd do it... then detach the old ref model and delete or rename it superseded rev x or similar... If this dont make sense send us/ me a sample file with old and new model ref can be single lines red and say blue in new is ok, and sheet just a simple frame in sheet model and I'll do a video ... to post as an answer... but there may be a better way
