Lorys The MS_RFDIR is a great solution but it means short term fix for your problem at hand that all xrefs would live in the same xref dedicated folder. I don't see why the correct definition of MS_RFDIR should be a 'short term fix'. MS_RFDIR should be a permanent part of every CAD administrators tool box. Lorys ...not sure then if you can make several MS_RFDIR s I thought it was just a single variable MS_RFDIR is, and always has been, a multi-path variable. You can define a single folder like this... MS_RFDIR = //Server/references/ And you can define multiple folders like this... MS_RFDIR = //Server/references/sites/;//Server/references/roads/;//Server/references/utilities/ An alternative way is to use the prefix ( ) operators in a configuration file. Some find this easier... MS_RFDIR = //Server/references/sites/ MS_RFDIR > //Server/references/roads/ MS_RFDIR < //Server/references/utilities/ Whether MS_RFDIR points to a single or multiple folders, MicroStation looks for attachment files in all folders.
Thanks Jon that really spelled it out for me as you noticed I wasn't sure if you could do that... now you just have to make it a site specific and and add the config changes for everyone .. we could use the site config for that right?
