Forum Post: RE: Any Known Issues with Saved Views
Hi, Is there a known issue with saved views in drawings that are managed in ProjectWise? I have noticed that saved views don't save the latest drawing details on exit. I turn levels on and off, make edits on new levels, update the saved views, save settings and close. I go to rendition the drawings and none of the level changes have been saved and anything drawn on a new level is turned off, even if I update the saved views and save settings on exit. The only way I have found to fix this is to delete and recreate the saved view all together. This effects hundreds of drawings and I do not have the time to go back and redo the saved views or redo the saved views every single time a minor edit is made. Is there a known problem with updating saved views when there are 10+ references involved some of which have live nesting? Any help is appreciated.
I had similar issues with last pwise project at clients office, they have the configuration variable set not to allow ref file nesting to update symbology overrides to never.. I believe that the term overrides is misinterpreted by administrators to mean level symbology overrides which they dont want, instead of what is really meant by the ref managers is if symbology changes then reload and update the views over riding the old symbology... its a pity Bentley just didnt use update symbology instead of override... but I've yet to convince anyone... and have had to do exactly what you have done.... some times you can use the the update levels in the level manager but its still manual, and if the levels symbology is meant to be different in your views than in the original ref files then this returns it all to original ref file look and you lose your manual changes ie all survey grey or green you could create script files to fix this but what a pain in the A .... it is ...! I feel your pain brother...
