Thanks to you too Lorys... I will try it when we get a chance - he's busy now. One thing to mention is that all the drawings were created on his machine. Our client seed files were used for each individual drawing as is prescribed on this project. This much I can be sure of. Also, we are using our internal Electronioc Document Management system which controls the use of seed files etc when creating a new file. What I cannot be sure of is the method he used to generate the text nodes. He says he doesn't like using the text with leader tool because he has had unexpected issues with the position and orientation of the horizontal extension line linking to the leader. He plces a regular text node then creates a leader connecting the text and the are of interest. However, this is just another way to skin a cat...I wouldn't expect it to cause this issue. We wondered about the UPF (admittedly didn't try it) but suspected it wouldn't change anything. Like I said before, this only affected one out of the series of drawings we are submitting. If it were a user preference issue it would affect all drawings, no? On top of that the only setting related to text nodes is 'Preserve Text node' and this didn't seem to make any difference.
Sounds more like a training issue to learn how to actually use all the settings for place note with the arrow and in line leader this can be done as a specific Dim style and it applies to the active text style so dont set any text style in the dim style ( I created dim style called PlaceNote) with all the settings to get predictable outcomes .. this set of settings is most complex and multifunction.. hence once you get it set up in the dgn libs user set his active text style as per normal run place note command but selects the dim style ( in my case PlaceNote style) then TYPE THE TEXT AND places the first point IF if you use my example pix I set the style as dynamic and self justify, you can set this any way your local standard works The multiple options are quite varied but with trial and error you can work out the best options to save as your custom local style
