All of this is actually a little more complicated than I have mentioned. The client MVBA places a triad of grid ticks as seen on this image: As you place each tick, the previous ones dynamically flip to "face" each other. When we made our Civil 3D "notes", we had to make two versions - an upper right or upper left which can be each rotated 180 degrees to become a lower left and lower right, respectively. To make these as cells, the same approach would be required. but might be a little more complicated, since in Civil 3D, there is a text rotation property in the create note tool that automatically kept the text right side up. View independent text might offer the same capability, but I would need to test it out. As a Civil 3D note or annotative cell, the lines grow and shrink with the text scaling by annotation scale. Something unavailable with the MVBA created grid ticks. I wonder if text in an annotative cell needs to be non-annotative?
