Forum Post: RE: Print Raster in Color
Edit your printer driver configuration file, select the "Color Maps" tab, select colors 1-255, click on Edit..., enable "Print in Grayscale", click on OK, save to a new .pltcfg, exit, load new printer printer driver configuration file. I hope this helps!

Forum Post: RE: CE - Backstage
Thanks for that Ian, but it didn't help (I renamed the file to .old). I notice that many of the scroll bars in the "outside" environment don't quite function properly. If I go to Settings>User the scroll down to Preferences, the top scroll bar control disappears, hitting the white area does nothing (it would normally page up). I can only go up by grabbing the grey portion and dragging it towards the top. Apologies, that is an esoteric description if ever............... Bob

Forum Post: RE: Raster transparency ignored when printed
Yes, I took care of the rasterized box thing, edit to the pltcfg file. If I turn on rasterized that one project prints fine. But I can't rely on that as a fix, I've got like 50 active projects and I'm confident I'll come across more problems (or not). My output is PDF 1.6.

Forum Post: RE: Parametric Cell - Replace
Hi Wayne, For replace parametric cell, we have an enhancement 539961 in tracking. But for your scenarios, did you try: 1. Create different variations(having different Width variable value) for your cells. 2. Set Definition as your variable Scope, all existing cell instances will be updated if you update the cell definition file. Regards, Grace

Forum Post: RE: Print Organizer not adding files
The plot boundaries could be defined in your print style in a number of ways, for example by using a shape on a particular level in the design file, thus when adding files if the shape is not found then the plot definitions will not be created, which as you point out may be the reason for not seeing anything. The following article will show you how these can be defined: This article has another example ' Video ' : for reference. Having determined how the Print Style is defined, you can take the appropriate action such as drawing a shape on the level in the file (s) or attaching the appropriate reference file. Alternatively you could define your own Print Style fit for purpose as described in the articles above.

Forum Post: RE: Share your favourite F key Scripts with Fellow V8i users
The Dims keyins do work for me on MSTN SS3. That's how I know that "1" was Reversed. Most of the time we use Terminator Moves First, but from time to time I need to switch to Inside to force something to look better. That would be fun to have something like this for the notes, too! Maybe I can do some research into Calculat.... Thanks for the thread (and tips) Lorys!
When I use this two dim scripts I have it set for an F key and a Shf F key and it lets me toggle on the fly reversed or inside which saves me quite a bit of time not having to go back and change a dim appearance.... Can you do a video or pix of what you mean Mary about terminator first .. all I can think of that setting is the place note tool has this option is that what you mean?... Try these set item toolsettings wpdimstartat=1;place note set item toolsettings wpdimstartat=0;place note The first will start the place note with the option start at text The second with the value =0 will start place note with the option start at terminator.. Of course both these are clumsy to key in by hand so create F keys with shift option or Alt combo (FKEYS are the best thing in Microstation for productivity by far!) Do you know about how to find keyin settings using first the tool in question then keyin in the keyin browser set item toolsettings and expand the the browser to see all the extra commands then you do trial and error with adding =0, then again with =1 and =2 and so on...there is a half decent tutorial on ask inga...

Forum Post: RE: Migrate from v8i to Connect
So I'm on day 10 of migration from v8i to Connect. I had loaded up the configuration and site files I needed a while ago, recently installed the latest version (Release 4) and started actually using it. This product is buggy, inconsistent operation, raster handling slow and flakey. I guess I should wait another year? I was told v8i would not be further developed, so I figure I eventually need to migrate.
Told you all not to do it... resist as long as possible or until it really lives up to expectation.. what release are we up to now, CE4? I'd give it another year if your talking about production office drafting or rolling out CE across your company and retire SS4 but if you can have it coexisting for special jobs that take advantage of the new features... for one or two advanced users... then it could be worth the troubles....

Forum Post: RE: Where did my level filters go?
you can create and use level filters from inside the dgnlib levels .. some users populate all the levels in their company std level. dgnlib file then one can create the level filters there and they become available to everybody.. A less satisfactory but workable way is to make a level filter on the fly while in your active drawing file .. this can be helpful when you have lots of complex level names and mixed discipline level names... go to the help and read up on level filters also search the blogs Mark Penn ? If you still have trouble go to Bentley learn and search for level Filters and see if you can download or view online training ( free or on demand is good)...

Thanks, again, Lorys Luckily I used packager to bring my customizations with me and used a file with the predetermined level filters. I added them to my dgnlib and it works perfectly!!
